Anybots Visit

While I was in California for WWDC 2011, I definitely had to check out Anybots. I had an internship opportunity with Anybots about 1 year ago, but couldn’t go because I was in a car accident. Needless to say, I was super excited to go visit them, FINALLY! :D (Thanks retro for driving me haha)

Anybots is pretty much as awesome as you can get. Bright colours, big iMacs, lots of robots, and food.

While I was there @RoboBenji walked me through the code, so I could try to make a simple auto-docking feature, version 0.00001 :P

The auto-docking did work, and nothing blew up! It was pretty cool!

Afterwards I walked around and took photos. Look at all these robots!

This QB has speakers because it was being used in a loud place. It looks so cute!

There’s a LIDAR on QB to prevent collisions with obstacles, it’s really sweet:

Here is Monty! It is unplugged :( It was still really interesting to see all of the servos, motors, muscles and pumps on it though. It is such a massive robot!

I just love the texture and the logo in this photo :)

This is Monty’s face. It’s wearing some pretty rad headphones ;)

LOOK AT ALL THIS AWESOME! RAAAAH!!!

The wheels look like midget bike wheels :)

Can you believe this is QA? It looks so old and un-stylish! Wow!

I think someone that works there is a painter or something. Either way, this painting is absolutely amazing. Complete and utter chaos WOOHOO!!!!

The skulls and bones of the R&D past…

Run robot run!

It was fun to hang out there for a few hours! You can check out more photos on flickr. Hopefully I will be back! :D
