Artificial Life, Coming Soon

In the Times of India, there was a recent article called ‘Artificial life likely in 3-10 years’. More specifically, ‘wet artificial life’.

What would happen after this artificial life form is created? We will have to keep in mind though, this most likely won’t be a drastic change, but, with the speed of the evolution of technology, more or less a fade-into effect. That is not saying that artificial right is correct.

Major hurdles of creating this are:

A container, or membrane, for the cell to keep bad molecules out, allow good ones, and the ability to multiply; A genetic system that controls the functions of the cell, enabling it to reproduce and mutate in response to environmental changes; A metabolism that extracts raw materials from the environment as food and then changes it into energy.

I suppose by the time they figure that out, all of the moral rights will be in place.
